About My Highland Dance Notebooks
These notebooks were borne out of the need my family had when my eldest daughter was involved in Highland dance from age seven to twelve years old. In the beginning, I would sit in on every lesson, taking notes and sometimes recording the steps so that she could effectively practice at home. I made practice charts with stickers, and goal graphic posters to keep her motivated. When she became old enough that I was not required to attend the lessons, she would often come home from class and not remember the details of what her teacher had taught. To solve this problem, I created a notebook for her to take to each class, to write down the pointers and instructions her teacher would give her concerning each dance she was working on. After a few years of competitions, I started tracking her progress through the Highland dance levels on a document detailing the name of each festival, date, location, and what medals or trophies she won.
Somewhere along the line, I had the idea that a tool combining all these functions into one cute notebook could be appealing to other dance families. So here they are!
